Tuesday 13th --- Home --- Thursday 15th

We didn't use the car at all, today. We set off from the Travelodge on foot (and paws) and walked to the sand dunes that are about 1.5 km away.

Looking West. Can you see St Ives "Island" and the chapel in the distance?

Looking East. Can you see the lighthouse?

While on the beach, it rained a couple of times, and we saw a rainbow (you can see the lighthouse better in this picture):

Then Mr Sidey decided to do some beach art.

First, a message to you all, made by shuffling his feet through the sand:

and to get an idea of the scale, here is a photo close-up to the letters, with Pikachu sitting in the "S".

Then we decided to try something a bit different and "virtual". We walked out this next message on the sand and let my GPS receiver record where we had walked. This is the message we walked out:

As an idea of scale, the "hello" is 50m across and it's 55m from top to bottom. All that was left on the sand were a few footprints.

After that I did a couple of short runs, then walked up the estuary into Hayle village and back along the road to the Travelodge (via that restaurant with an "M" and also sheltering in a shop when it started sleeting heavily.)

Tomorrow, I move to another Cornish Travelodge on the South coast.

This is the GPS map of my entire walk/run:
